The BC General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) which represents some of LifeLabs’ employees are currently on strike. As a designated essential service, LifeLabs continues to operate and provide essential care. However, some of their services have been impacted and reduced.
As a result of job action, the LifeLabs location at 547 Michigan Street in James Bay will be closed on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Other locations remain open and available. The next nearest LifeLabs is located at the Yarrow Patience Service Centre, #416 – 645 Fort Street, Monday – Friday, 8: a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The LifeLabs location in James Bay is a tenant of the James Bay Community Project (JBCP), but we are not involved in their labor dispute. All JBCP programs and services are continuing as usual. We recognize that this situation may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
If you have any questions or concerns about JBCP programming, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 250-388-7844 or at askus@jbcp.bc.ca
Thank you for your continued support.
