Social Programs for Seniors
James Bay Community Project and Capital City Volunteers offer the following social programming to seniors 65 and older:
Bridging The Digital Divide
Older adults are encouraged to learn more about portable technology – smart phones, laptops & tablets. Some topics include:
- How to connect to the internet
- How to send or share an email, photos or videos
- How to identify fake messages, ads or websites
- How to use online apps to help make your lifestyle easier (i.e.: maps for errands; medical appointments; ordering prescriptions; calendar reminders)
- What type of technology will best fit what I need?
Building up your digital literacy skills & knowledge can help you:
- Protect yourself while online (i.e.: identify theft, financial scams)
- Increase ways to contact family, friends and caregivers
- Build up resilience and brain health by learning something new
- Maintain your independence
Please register in advance to attend. Bring your questions and mobile device (if you have one) to a session with our Information Technology (IT) specialist.
