Volunteers
We have approximately 300 volunteers with a wide variety of skills and ranging in age from teenagers to elders. We place a strong emphasis on providing supportive and inclusive volunteer opportunities so everyone can contribute to the community, develop meaningful experiences and make connections.
Community Living Volunteers are an integral part of JBCP, coming weekly to make soup, bake goodies, garden, sort clothes, clean and help us with shopping. Along with individuals and their support workers, groups of volunteers come from Frederick Ozanam Centre, Community Living Victoria, and Future’s Club.
Becoming a Volunteer:
- Contact the Coordinator of Volunteers to schedule an interview/information session. Sessions take place Monday – Friday 9 am – 4 pm. Alternate times can be arranged.
- If a volunteer opportunity is offered to you, references will be required. For some positions, a Criminal Records Review is also required. Additionally, drivers who volunteer must have a class 5 licence, a clear Driver’s Abstract and $2-million dollars in third party liability insurance.
- Once all the administration is complete, new volunteers will be provided with an orientation prior to starting their volunteer work.
Current Volunteer Opportunities:
