Community Closet Thrift Store

The Community Closet stocks gently loved, high-quality clothing for women and men, including well-known labels, at a fraction of the retail cost. Enjoy shopping for new-to-you fashion bargains while helping to support our community programs.

The Community Closet Thrift Store is the social enterprise of James Bay Community Project (JBCP). The purpose of the Community Closet is to generate funds for JBCP which provides free access to social services and programs for families, youth and seniors.

JCBP receives no funding for the Community Closet. We pay market rates for rent and utilities, as well as competitive wages and benefits costs.

The Community Closet is proud to provide high-quality, second-hand clothing and apparel. Pop by for daily for deals $10 and less, weekly sales specials and brand name finds at a considerably lower cost than brand new.

The Community Closet accepts donations of clean and gently-used men’s and women’s clothing, shoes and fashion accessories.* Please feel free to drop off your donation during store hours.

In order to continue to provide quality products at fair prices while supporting programs that improve the lives of people in your community, we ask that donations be of high-quality; not worn through or excessively faded; clean and free of stains or hair; and should not have missing buttons, tears/holes or loose threads.

This helps us and our volunteers make efficient use of our time and capacity. Your cooperation, patronage and overwhelming generosity is graciously appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and kindness.

*No scarves, please – because of your generosity, we are currently well-stocked. Thank you so much!
