To mark our 50th year, generous donors have stepped up to match all spring gifts, meaning your gift will go twice as far in helping us reach our goal of $10,000.

Spring Campaign 2025

Dear Friends,
Thank you for being an essential part of our community and for supporting the work of James Bay Community Project. As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary, our Resilience of 50 (RO50) Campaign is in full swing—a time to honour our past and envision a future built on the power of connection.

Last fall, despite challenges like postal disruptions, your generosity helped us raise $16,000 toward our fall goal. Along with contributions on Giving Tuesday and during the holidays, we reached a total of $25,000. Every dollar makes a profound difference in our mission to build resilience through meaningful social connections—a cornerstone of optimal health and well-being.

Each year our programs touch the lives of over 1,500 families and individuals—from isolated seniors and vulnerable youth to families facing food security challenges. As Marion shared,On a visit to the James Bay Community Project, the outreach worker told me about the Connections lunch meetings on a Thursday and also asked if I would like one-to-one visits: since then, I have been attending Connections and began to receive one-to-one visits once a suitable match had been found. I am grateful to the James Bay Community Project for providing these services: my overall health is greatly benefitted by them.” ~ Marion

Our staff and volunteers provide 19,000+ hours each year to support our program and services’ participants before they reach a crisis point.
Here are some more examples of how we help people, like Marion, at James Bay Community Project:
  • By supporting isolated seniors to stay connected within the new technology era through our Digital Divide Computer Literacy Program;
  • Holding a safe space for parents and children to interact and learn with help from Family Resource Workers and their peers;
  • Supporting youth during anxious times and providing groceries for those struggling financially.
None of this work could be accomplished without gifts from our generous supporters. Thank you!
Now we have a unique donation ask of our donors and supporters in this Spring Campaign, to mark this special 50th Anniversary.

1. Generous donors have stepped up to match all spring gifts, for a total goal of $10,000 – meaning your support will go twice as far in strengthening programs that provide care, connection, and essential services to our community.

2. Another goal this year is to rally 50 people to share why JBCP matters to them—and with every story and donation, we move closer to ensuring our programs thrive.

This spring, we invite you to join us in expanding this vital work. Whether by becoming a monthly donor with a commitment of $10–$100 per month, making a one-time gift of $150-$1,200, or joining as a leadership donor of $1,500 or more, your support ensures that our programs continue to grow.

Together, let’s build on our momentum and create a future where everyone feels connected and resilient.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Mary Lee Crocker
