We’re excited to announce a new pilot program in partnership with Victoria Pedicab! This initiative supports seniors by promoting mental wellness and enhancing social connections.
We’re especially excited to have a wonderful guide leading the way—someone whose work with JBCP runs deep and who is highly experienced in engaging people from all walks of life. She has long dreamed of providing this service to JBCP participants and is eager to help them experience the beauty of James Bay in a new and meaningful way. Thank you to Melaina for holding onto this dream! We are honoured for the opportunity to finally make it a reality.
We are also very appreciative to Victoria Pedicab proprietor, Andrew for his shared vision in building community and resilience through connections. Thank you, Andrew and Victoria Pedicab, for supporting this program, being a silver-level sponsor for our 50th Celebration, and generously donating a prize for our upcoming auction in support of our Fall fundraising efforts.
As a pilot program, select participants through our JBCP seniors’ outreach programs and our sister agency, Capital City Volunteers will enjoy guided rides to connect with nature and their community. We are thrilled at how this project aligns with our mission to help seniors age with dignity and resilience in place, while strengthening social ties and deepening their connection to the rich history of James Bay and the surrounding area.
Being able to offer this pilot feels particularly satisfying as we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year. In the same generous spirit of this pilot and our Flight Into Summer Raffle, we look forward to finding more unique and creative ways to connect with our community and help local residents build their resilience as we begin the next chapter in our history.
