For families with children from birth – 5 years. 

  • Please assess your child and yourself for symptoms of common cold, influenza, or Covid-19. If you, or your child has symptoms, please stay at home until you all feel better. Thank you for continuing to safeguard the health of everyone in our community!
  • Due to safety and group space restrictions, we are not able to accommodate daycare providers. Please note that the limit is one child besides your own child(ren).

  • Parents MUST register in advance to attend. Sorry, no drop-ins.
  • Families can register for up to two playgroups per week per family. You can book up to 14 days in advance.
  • Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. (unless otherwise noted).

Fun Through Music

The Fun Through Music program is seeking seniors to participate in this intergenerational music group. No music experience required. Express yourself through music, movement and more!

It’s for any seniors who enjoy being in the company of young children and their parents. This is a great social opportunity for families and seniors in our community.

Learn songs, how to use percussion instruments to keep the beat and other activities.

It’s a joyful opportunity to sing and move together (chairs are available) and have fun using simple instruments and lifting spirits in the grey winter days.

Increase your well-being and resilience while connecting with others in your community.

Free! Must be able to commit to all eight sessions.

Please register in advance.

When: January 7 to February 25*

Day: Tuesday

Time – there are two 45-minute time slots available:

  • Group 1: 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
  • Group 2: 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

*Next session is tentatively planned for April 2025.

Coffee Club for 65+
Jan 15 @ 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Capital City Volunteers hosts this weekly social for adults age 65 and older. The Coffee Club is currently full, however, occasionally a space may become available so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Participants must be registered for a JBCP program or service to attend.

This is a free, informal discussion group with guest speakers on baby-related topics. The program runs for 10 weeks.
