New-to-you apparel is restocked daily – you’re sure to find a great deal whenever you stop by!

Baby Playgroup

Summer Closure Notice:

The Family Resource Centre will be closed from August 18 to September 1st inclusive. Programs will resume on Tuesday, September 2nd.


For families with babies up to 15 months.

  • This playgroup is an opportunity to play and connect in a relaxed social setting.
  • Due to safety and group space restrictions, we are not able to accommodate daycare providers. Please note that the limit is one child besides your own child(ren). Thank you.
  • Please assess your child and yourself for symptoms of common cold, influenza, or Covid-19. If you, or your child has symptoms, please stay at home until you all feel better. Thank you for continuing to safeguard the health of everyone in our community.
Registration Info
  • Parents MUST register in advance to attend. (Sorry, no drop-ins.)
  • Families can register for up to two playgroups per week per family. You can book up to 14 days in advance.
  • Tuesdays from 12:30-2:00 p.m.
  • Closed stat holidays or as noted otherwise (see dates above).

Mother Goose

For new parents with babies from birth to 12 months. Come and learn some songs, rhymes, and finger plays to play with your baby. A healthy snack is served for parents and babies.

Coffee Club for 65+

Capital City Volunteers hosts this weekly social for adults age 65 and older. The Coffee Club is currently full, however, occasionally a space may become available so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Participants must be registered for a JBCP program or service to attend.

*Capital City Volunteers (CCV) & James Bay Community Project (JBCP) together are the lead agency for the Victoria Better at Home Program. CCV provides support to low-income seniors 65 years of age & older living independently in the City of Victoria (with the exception of James Bay), who have little or no support from family or friends.

JBCP is part of the Coalition of Neighbourhood Houses which offers a continuum of supports and services to children & youth, individuals, families & seniors across the capital region.

Neighbourhood houses ensure families and residents are able to access programs within their local neighbourhoods or nearby communities. Their programs and services reflect the specific needs of the communities they serve and are offered in accessible neighbourhood locations.

Walk & Talk – for Parents & Little Ones

This is a free drop-in that will meet outside our front doors at 547 Michigan St. Rain or shine. Please check the weather before heading out and dress accordingly.
