On the International Day of Charity, we encourage you to think about what charity means to you. How does it feel when you receive a helping hand?
That feeling can be hard to contain – when gratitude multiplies, the only thing to do is to share it! Here are some ways to channel your compassion into action:
- Raise awareness: talk about the causes that have meaning for you through social media or in person.
- Get involved: volunteer or participate in community actions or events.
- Donate: charitable giving provides the agency with the ability to use the funds in the area of greatest need.
Charitable actions make our communities stronger and more resilient by providing people a way to connect with each other through volunteering or funding much-needed social services.
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
If you believe in supporting people before they reach their breaking point, please consider a gift to support the James Bay Community Project on our donation page: https://jbcp.bc.ca/donate/#donate-today
