The federal government has announced a deadline extension of February 28, 2025 for the 2024 tax year. Once Parliament resumes, this amendment to the Income Tax Act will be introduced and is expected to be approved, which will provide charitable non-profits with time to receive and process any donations that were delayed by the Canada Post strike.
The James Bay Community Project provides vital services so that everyone can thrive. Donations support our programs and services for low-income families with children, at-risk youth, and vulnerable seniors who face isolation and loneliness.
We are thankful for the generosity of our donors in helping us provide year-round support to our community so that everyone can build and maintain their resiliency. Thank you for your patience as we work to catch up on our mail backlog. We will be in touch as soon as possible to issue your tax receipt. Any donations made up until December 31, 2024 will be receipted for the 2024 tax year. If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
